on the dyno, I can offer some input on this..... The exhaust cams on a Z32 have a sweet spot that allow the engine to make the most power through the entire power band in the same position. Moving the exhaust cams one way or the other does not move the power curve right or left, but simply lowers or raises the whole power curve and absolutely has a sweet spot. The intake cams are totally different, the 10 degree's the VTC allows the cam to move is HUGE and drastically expands the power band. With fixed intake sprockets, the power band moves right or left, you loose either top end or bottom end moving the cam timing . Also If you adjust for bottom end power with fixed intake sprockets the idle is very poor. What is interesting with the breather mods, the intake cams like to be advanced longer than with smaller pipes.
